This naive artwork depicts daily life in a village on the sea like Las Galeras.

I especially like the men who collect the coconuts at the top of the palm trees. Sometimes they use simple tools made of rope, but in most cases they climb the trees with their bare hands!

The painting depicts the everyday life of a village on the river. Among the colorful houses, men and women are busy in their daily work, which is closely connected with the river, the source of life and wealth.

The Samana Peninsula is famous for its beaches, but also the internal territory can offer simple landscapes, but of rare beauty.

The return from the fields is an image that is part of everyday life in the Dominican Republic, and even today you can see first hand here in Las Galeras.

The cultivation of the land has always been an important part of the economy of this region, where farms are still overwhelmingly family.

For this reason, agricultural work that involves the entire family is more than a business, a very important part of the culture of this wonderful country.
