Looking at the serene expression of the face of this woman, the colors that the artist has used and the symbols, like the dove, you have a feeling of peace.

In Samana, there is an area called "Pueblo Principe", where all the houses are brick, but plastered to look like wood. The houses are very impressive and are painted in pastel colors, just like the wall in the background of this picture. We advise you to visit it!

Even in Las Galeras, you often see houses, both brick wood, of various colors and types of architectures. There being no architectural constraints, everyone can indulge as it sees fit.

In this painting, the artist was a typical figure of a woman in Haiti. Even now, even here in Las Galeras, the Haitian use to carry large containers on their heads, to carry their merchandise on sale with astounding ease and elegance.

This can be baskets, bowls aluminum, backpacks, large trays or buckets and generally contain fruit, sweets, clothes, beauty products, or water.
