This magnificent event, which takes place every year, offers people who know how to appreciate the world of cigars, the opportunity to interact and enjoy each other's company: manufacturers, retailers and consumers.

  Casa de Campo, La Romana, we will visit the TABACALERA DE GARCIA.

Then, in the "capital of the cigars," Santiago de los Caballeros, you can visit, accompanied by expert guides, the cultivation of tobacco and cigar factories of the most prestigious:

                                                 Like cigarettes, cigars are a health risk.

They are generally considered as a viable alternative to cigarettes because their smoke should not be inhaled, how often are smoked is less and also because they lack the toxic components of the ignition of the paper, thus reducing the risk of contracting lung cancer.
But smoking cigars or pipes, remains the risk of oral cancer, due to the fact to hold the smoke in your mouth.
Someone made the comparison between those who smoke cigarettes and those who smoke cigars, as an alcoholic and a sommelier!
In 1962, when he began the US embargo, Cuba lost its main market, so the largest manufacturers of Cuban cigars, have tried other areas and many have settled in Dominican Rep, where they found the climate and lands most suitable.

The main quality of a good cigar, are:
taste, smell, color, combustibility, texture, elasticity, balance between nicotine and oils.

Garcia Tobacco, La Romana (located on the south coast of the Dominican Rep, 260 km. South of Las Galeras and 127 km.a east of Santo Domingo), is the largest manufacturer of handmade cigars, the world .


We produce famous brands like Montecristo, H. Upmann, Romeo y Julieta, SANTA DAMIANA and DON.

Diego Tabadom Holding, in Santiago (Dominican Rep second city, 147 km. North-west of Santo Domingo and 220 km. West of Las Galeras), is another important Dominican company that produces the famous DAVIDOFF and AVO Y GRIFFIN'S.

The cigar is an object particularly delicate and takes only a few hours of improper storage for compromising, its full use, for this reason, the type of packaging is very important.

TUBE:
May be aluminum or plastic and usually contains a single cigar. It guarantees the preservation for long periods and can be reused at will. Inside the tube is often used in the sliced thin cedar to maintain the level of humidity.

CARTON PACKAGE:
The cardboard packaging ("petaca") is three or five pieces, does not guarantee the seal moisture and will eventually affect the taste of the cigars. E 'to be considered the worst type of packaging, even though it is also used for quality cigars (eg. Cohiba, Partagas, Montecristo).

THE BOX:
