WHITE
n.28 cm.76x101
semi-gloss on canvas
This painting differs from others, despite being "a typical painting of the Dominican Republic", to sober colors.
The prevalence of different shades of white brings out the warmth of the beautiful dark-skinned inhabitants of the Caribbean.
The dream of all of us, that with great efforts and suffering, we spend hours and hours in the sun, covered with sunscreen to not burn us !!!!

REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS
I drop everything and I go ......
The Dominican Republic, which in some ways is considered a third world country, misleads those arriving from Europe, into believing "discover America".
The Dominicans are a wonderful people, happy and peaceful, but certainly gone are the days when it was enough to get with the mirrors to enchant the Indians.
Unfortunately we often foreigners we sin of vanity, optimism and confidence!
It is need to know the laws, the culture and the problems of the country to avoid unpleasant surprises.
We should not think that is enough to get 50 or 100,000 $ in his pocket, to "start a new life".
The important thing is to use your head!
In this post, I would like to try to clarify a bit 'ideas, who, seeing the confusion and poverty of the place, is inclined to think of being able to buy everything on the cheap and obtaining so much in a short time.
If you decide you want to do "the plunge", you should know some basic things, such as, for example, that the lawyers here are not all as they seem reliable.
It 'better to be advised, for the choice of the legal and surveyor, from some other foreigner who has already concluded a real estate investment.
After choosing the land of your dreams, the first thing you should ask is the titulo owned and cedula (ID card) of the seller, to ascertain the actual property and see if the soil is deslindato (condition currently mandatory for to sell) .When you record a plot, the registry titulo titulo issues a certificate, which will be specified in the surface, the designation, the date of registration of the owner and the date of purchase.
The deslinder, is the process where you determine the location and boundaries of land.
Without deslinder, you might be surprised about the boundaries of the property, thinking he had bought in an area instead is in another of the same ground.
If a titulo deslindato, is split, we must remake the deslinder for each plot.
For example, if I had a titulo, 500 square meters and want to sell only 100 square meters, lose the deslinder that would convert carta Costancia, because it would become two owners instead of one.
The carta Costancia, is a document issued by the registry titulo that accredits a property right on a portion of land.
Once request certification of the legal status, it must be determined to the tax office interior, on the ground that do not impose taxes owed to the state.

COLORS THAT, THE COLORS OF THE CARIBBEAN !!!
With a perspective altered, leading to exaggerate the proportion of subjects in the foreground, making them appear much larger than those in the background, we see in the background, the mountains, two small houses and some women on the go.
Featured Instead, we see, with a wide-angle lens, two beautiful women, that they may rest in the shadow of their big hats, waiting to sell their wares.

SYMBOLS TAINO
n.83 cm.76x101
semi-gloss on canvas
In 1508, about 60,000 remained in the island Taino d 'Hispaniola. In 1531 the exploitation and disease and depression, had reduced the number to 600.
They came to commit suicide en masse and realize abortions, as the only way of salvation from slavery.
The origins of the Indians Taínos are not very clear, it is said that they came from South America.
Their mythology and their symbols lead to 'assumptions that are related with the most known Maya-
The term "Taino" in the indigenous language, means "the good", "noble".
The most characteristic aspect of Taino mythology is the ratio of the spirits, men, animals, plants and inanimate beings. This form of animism gave great powers to the shaman, considered the only one able to dominate the spirits.
The countries were in clearings in the forest, not on the coast and had two types of houses, built with palm leaves and wood: the bohio, circular building in which they lived more families and caney, building larger and rectangular in which he lived the cacique (village chief) and his family.
Used for sleeping hammocks, hammock is indeed the word of Taíno origin.
The clothes were very poor, the Spaniards, they found men who wore only the skins to cover their genitals and women whether married, a skirt of straw or leaves, called Nagua (about 100 km. From Las Galeras, on the north coast, there is a town called Nagua), or if they were not married, were bare.
It was the custom of both sexes paint their bodies with black, white, red or yellow to protect themselves from evil spirits.
They used to adorn the ears and lips with gold, silver, stones, bones or shells.
They were skilled in creating baskets, in making ceramic pots, in cutting wood, in making fishing nets and in jewelry
They had plenty of ways to have fun, dance, music, the game with the ball they called batu and played in a space called batey.
This game attracted the attention of the first Spaniards because the ball being made of rubber and resins bounced, yet unknown phenomenon in Europe.
There were also calls areytos sacred dances accompanied by different instruments, mainly drums.

SLAVES
n.58 cm.76x101

During colonization, the South American Indians, the Taino and Arauachi, did not have the physical requirements necessary to perform the toughest jobs and had resisted the smallpox epidemics introduced by the Spanish.
The blacks of Africa, by their nature more resistant, constituted from this point of view an alternative.
The slave trade between western companies was controlled by the French, Dutch, German and English. Of this huge movement, the most visible trace remains today, is a mixture of ethnic groups and languages in the Americas.
The population of the island of Hispaniola, was composed of three different ethnic groups: Europeans (about 32,000 in 1790) who held political and economic control, the gens de couleur (about 28,000) individuals free of Mixed Race and the African slaves (more than 500,000).
Finally, there were the Maroon ex-slaves who escaped their masters, they lived completely unrelated to the rest of the colony.
The gens de couleur rebelled against the government, and the French National Assembly granted political rights to all free-born blacks and mulattos (without, however, changing the status of those who were still slaves). The slaves in the area of Cap-Haïtien rebelled against their masters and On 1 January 1804 the now former colony declared its independence, becoming only the second country in the Americas to declare independence, after the United Stat
