This naive artwork depicts daily life in a village on the sea like Las Galeras.

I especially like the men who collect the coconuts at the top of the palm trees. Sometimes they use simple tools made of rope, but in most cases they climb the trees with their bare hands!

In the life of the Dominican Republic, bananas are among the staple food, together with rice and beans.
In the area of ​​Samana, we have big crops.
They are called guineos, yellow bananas, ripe, those we know in Europe and eat like fruits.
More difficult to find are the guineito pequeno, which are tiny and sweet.
While they are called plane tree, the larger ones, green or yellow, which are baked, boiled or fried.
