HAITIAN WOMAN

n.161 cm.90x49
semi-gloss on canvas

In this painting, the artist was a typical figure of a woman in Haiti. Even now, even here in Las Galeras, the Haitian use to carry large containers on their heads, to carry their merchandise on sale with astounding ease and elegance.

This can be baskets, bowls aluminum, backpacks, large trays or buckets and generally contain fruit, sweets, clothes, beauty products, or water.

The same picture exists in another variant, where the predominant color is blue, and the contents of the basket is different. (n. 162)
