Haitianarts picture Haiti shantytown

This framework takes us away from Las Galeras, to bring in a bad Haitian reality: a slum.
Unfortunately, Haiti is the poorest country in the Caribbean, has been mismanaged and abused even by nature.
After the terrible earthquake of 2010, in the capital, Port au Prince, have formed many slums which lack basic infrastructure (potable water supply, waste disposal, and toilet).
In these clusters, the people are forced to live some of the most enduring intolerable living conditions, waterborne diseases such as cholera and diseases such as AIDS due to prostitution for survival, as well as a lot of crime, due poverty.

Haiti has struggled so much over the centuries for freedom and the right to human dignity. Fight this day against poverty and hunger, but for the people of Haiti painting is the breath of life.
